Movie: Hope Aur Hum
Set in present day, suburban city, Hope Aur Hum is a simple, story of everyday life in a family. Nagesh (Naseeruddin Shah) is very attached with his old copy machine, which has been with him from his youth. This German built machine was once a state-of-the-art technology but now it is outdated and frequently is out of order. Everyone laughs at him for still keeping this machine for business, his family pesters him to get rid of it, but he is insistent to keep it.
Nagesh’s younger son Nitin (Naveen Kasturia) finds his love interest losing his phone which was retrieved by her leading them to meet, but a twist in his story leaves him completely baffled.
The third generation of the family, Nagesh’s grandson, Anurag (Kabir Sajid), an active kid who loves playing cricket. Once when he goes to visit his grandmother’s place that is far from the city. There, he encounters something in an old trunk in the storeroom that turns things for a traumatic experience, which he keeps a secret for everybody. He loses interest in everything including his favourite game cricket.
As the three different generations of three different journeys struggle to find peace within, our story progresses to reveal how each member of the family responds to change and how hope brightens up their ‘hum’.

Hope aur Hum is Sudip Bandyopadhyay directorial debut. He is a well-known personality for the last 20 years in the film fraternity.
The movie scheduled to be released on 11 May 2018.
