‘Subedar Joginder Singh’ directed by Simerjit Singh. Produced by Saga Music, the film is Punjabi war film. It is based on the life of Joginder Singh and is slated for a release by April 6, 2018.

Starring Gippy Grewal and Aditi Sharma, the film will paint a picture of the life and struggles of the Indian Army during the 1962 Indo-China War. It narrates the story of the Indian Army soldier, Joginder Singh. Joginder is also a recipient of the highest gallantry award, Param Vir Chakra. He had led his troops during the war in which he fought until he was wounded and made a prisoner of war. He had singlehandedly killed more than 50 Chinese before he was captured. Joginder had also strongly fought against the Chinese at Bum La in Tawang before succumbing to his own injuries in Chinese custody.

Director Simerjit Singh also belongs to the same region of Moga, District Faridkot in Punjab where Subedar Joginder Singh was born. The director intends to depict the Army soldier’s professional and personal life. Primarily focusing on how the Subedar had handled the situations during the war. The film was shot in extreme weather conditions in various parts of the country.
Gippy Grewal, the star-studded protagonist of the film is a very popular name in the Punjabi film industry. He made his debut with the Bollywood film, ‘Lucknow Central’ alongside actors like Farhan Akhtar, Diana Penty, Deepak Dobriyal, Rajesh Sharma, Ronit Roy and Ravi Kishan. He stars opposite Aditi Sharma who has previously featured in Bollywood films like ‘Mausam’ and ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’, to name a few.
